White Fillings

Natural-looking cosmetic dental fillings

White fillings, also known as tooth-coloured fillings, are a much more aesthetically pleasing way of restoring a decayed or damaged tooth than traditional silver amalgam fillings. They are a popular choice with our patients as they blend in perfectly with natural teeth.
At Hadley Wood Dental Practice we strongly believe that prevention is better than cure and we will always encourage and help you to look after your teeth properly so you don’t develop tooth decay in the first place.
If you do have decay and need a filling then we recommend white fillings as one of the solutions as they are strong, durable and help strengthen the tooth to prevent any further damage and decay.

Porcelain Veneers

Authentic porcelain veneers

If you are worried that your teeth are stained, chipped or not in complete alignment then veneers may be one of the treatment options to consider because they look just like natural teeth.

A veneer is a very thin, tooth-coloured piece of porcelain, rather like a false finger nail, that is bonded on top of your own tooth.

Based on your needs, we can adjust the shape of your veneers to make your teeth look longer and/or closer together.
You can have just one veneer or a complete set, also known as a smile makeover.

For a single stained tooth, we can match the precise shade of porcelain to give it a lighter appearance to blend in with the surrounding teeth.

Veneers can also be used to close small gaps when braces are not a suitable option. For a tooth that is slightly out of position a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it in line with the others.

Teeth Whitening

Brighter, whiter smile

If the colour of your teeth makes you feel self-conscious when you smile, then teeth whitening could be the ideal solution for you. As we get older our teeth naturally darken and they can become stained by certain foods, drinks, smoking and medications.

Teeth whitening is an increasingly popular and completely safe procedure that can lighten and brighten the colour of your teeth by using special dental products that can only be prescribed by a registered dental professional.
Individual results vary and are based on your initial tooth colour and nature of your tooth staining.

Whitening may not be a suitable option for everyone, so we always carry out an initial consultation before any treatment begins.

Home Whitening

Using impressions of your teeth we custom-make special lightweight plastic mouth trays that fit snuggly over your teeth in a similar way to a mouth guard. You then put a whitening gel inside the tray and wear it at night, or for a few hours during the day, in the comfort of your own home. Results are normally seen over two weeks, giving you a deep, long-lasting whitening effect.

Invisible Braces

Clear braces to improve your smile

There is a solution to having straighter teeth without having to wear traditional heavy metal braces.

Known as invisible orthodontics, this type of treatment offers you the choice of wearing a clear, and in some cases removable appliance while straightening and aligning your teeth.

This is often a favourable option for adults who have professional careers and don’t feel comfortable wearing unsightly ‘train track’ braces for months on end.
The technology behind invisible orthodontics is highly advanced, and depending on the individual case, can at times result in a shorter treatment time.

With invisible braces you can enjoy the benefit of your braces being hidden from the untrained eye, making you feel less self-conscious when socialising or speaking in public.

With removable braces you can take them out to eat, clean your teeth or for special occasions, so they are fully adaptable to your lifestyle.
